How To Get There

Hey everyone,
I am back to continue the path to success. We already talked about having a passion for what you do. Now, I want to target the college students. Sorry for those who are too lazy to go back to college to qualify for the level of education that can make them do what they enjoy and earn millions. Let’s go college heights. Now this part is about how you can make it a little easier than other to get into the field that you know or think you will enjoy working in.
First, let’s start with the question. Do you know what you enjoy doing, or what career is really for you? If not, you need to go do that self-assessment suggested to you by Andrew Grinbaum in his book “CHA-CHING.” He also had his own assessment in there, so you should check it out. Let us continue. If you would like to find out what you would like to spend your life time doing, rather than being one of those individual who change their career even two to five years because of the stress they develop doing this certain job.
Being a college student is the best time to market you self, and get to be known. If you are a present college student, or were, I know you remember how the advisors urged the students to find internships. Do you remember? And did you get the reason for this? The reason for doing an internship is not just to gain experience, internships are also there to help you figure what is the best career for you; it’s somewhat a practical assessment. Remember, when choosing this internship, you are choosing based on the different career you fantasize and would like to work in. Those advisors and teachers know what they are saying and why they are urging you to do so.
Now, the part I like. What are the expectations? Well, you will find out the expectations at the internship, but one expectation is not included as far as I know. Because you will be doing internship just to get a feel, and not get the right pay, if it is a paid internship, you might enjoy the internship so much, you forget about the salary. Do not get scared, but find a way to know how the average people in your desired career field earn. Yes, Grinbaum give us some tips on that in his book. He explain how you can research online and find out the salary people in your desired industry earn, whether from starting or in five through to ten years of working.
Hey, one more thing. What about where the job is in demand? You need to do our research on where you might have to relocate to so that you can find that job easier, and do a lot of network. For example, you cannot want to be an orange farmer and live in New York, and expected to get a job, and not even to find other farmers to network with. The best choice is to migrate to a state where orange is grown, Florida, and do you degree there where you might even get easy internships by being so close to the industry.
So, check the book out, I am just picking out a few chapters that I feel is necessary. This is a path laid out for you as a college student to be successful, have a job of their dreams and to receive a pay check that make you smile.
