The Money Jobs

Hello,
I am so excited right now. If you are reading this book that I have been talking about my past two posts, you might have passed that chapter, or you haven’t reached there as yet. Being adolescence or a teenager, I am sure you would remember you wanted to become a professional who earn millions and millions of dollars. Well, in the book “CHA-CHING” by Andrew Grinbaum, he list a number of professions that intake millions of dollars in one’s yearly earning. Do you remember the jobs we usually hear about as kids, and you always wanted to be a Doctor, Accountant, Lawyer etc. Well, Grinbaum shared his side of story how he heard about wealthy occupations. Also, he shared how his surrounding was filled with wealthy professionals and I think this is surrounding had a good effect on his life in becoming successful.
As I turned the pages of this book, I came upon a list of career that earns up to 100k yearly I suppose. As I looked through the list, I saw some occupations I used to talk about, but I change it because of how young I was and understanding what they did was very difficult. I told myself, let me go look if the career field that I am heading towards now is in there, it was. I want to become a HR manager or a Hotel manager. Some of the popular careers he listed were Accountant, Biochemical engineer, Computer engineer, Dentist, Financial Analyst and the list goes on.
In the previous chapter, I talked about how the book gave us an idea in researching on the fantasy job that you would like to work in or a specific company you would like to work for. There is a chapter in the book, where he gives a simple formula in getting an interview. He start out by using a specific career, and you’re supposed to carry out a research on that career and see who is hiring. I supposed you already know what the expectations of the occupation you choose are. He suggested that you should write down the names of the companies that you find that are hiring, this include the address, telephone number everything that is important to gain contact.
Even if these company are not hiring, you need to take down there information. Because what Grinbaum have to tell you can be worth it. For the companies that are looking, apply, but for the ones that are not just keep the information because there is something called “informational interview aka info view” where it is and interview set up by you to ask a representative of the company questions about the company for you to learn more about the company, and also for them to know about you and your interest.
Doing an info view will bring attention to you if you are not lucky getting a job from the ones that you apply for, and the company you did your info view with could be looking for you to be their new employee. This is just like doing an internship were if you mark your spot on that company, and you keep writing them, not by email preferred, you are likely to have a spot save for you after graduating.  Also, info view, and internship are contributors to networking.

How To Get There

Hey everyone,
I am back to continue the path to success. We already talked about having a passion for what you do. Now, I want to target the college students. Sorry for those who are too lazy to go back to college to qualify for the level of education that can make them do what they enjoy and earn millions. Let’s go college heights. Now this part is about how you can make it a little easier than other to get into the field that you know or think you will enjoy working in.
First, let’s start with the question. Do you know what you enjoy doing, or what career is really for you? If not, you need to go do that self-assessment suggested to you by Andrew Grinbaum in his book “CHA-CHING.” He also had his own assessment in there, so you should check it out. Let us continue. If you would like to find out what you would like to spend your life time doing, rather than being one of those individual who change their career even two to five years because of the stress they develop doing this certain job.
Being a college student is the best time to market you self, and get to be known. If you are a present college student, or were, I know you remember how the advisors urged the students to find internships. Do you remember? And did you get the reason for this? The reason for doing an internship is not just to gain experience, internships are also there to help you figure what is the best career for you; it’s somewhat a practical assessment. Remember, when choosing this internship, you are choosing based on the different career you fantasize and would like to work in. Those advisors and teachers know what they are saying and why they are urging you to do so.
Now, the part I like. What are the expectations? Well, you will find out the expectations at the internship, but one expectation is not included as far as I know. Because you will be doing internship just to get a feel, and not get the right pay, if it is a paid internship, you might enjoy the internship so much, you forget about the salary. Do not get scared, but find a way to know how the average people in your desired career field earn. Yes, Grinbaum give us some tips on that in his book. He explain how you can research online and find out the salary people in your desired industry earn, whether from starting or in five through to ten years of working.
Hey, one more thing. What about where the job is in demand? You need to do our research on where you might have to relocate to so that you can find that job easier, and do a lot of network. For example, you cannot want to be an orange farmer and live in New York, and expected to get a job, and not even to find other farmers to network with. The best choice is to migrate to a state where orange is grown, Florida, and do you degree there where you might even get easy internships by being so close to the industry.
So, check the book out, I am just picking out a few chapters that I feel is necessary. This is a path laid out for you as a college student to be successful, have a job of their dreams and to receive a pay check that make you smile.

What were you meant to do?

Hello Everyone,
Have you heard of the book “CHA-CHING” by Andrew Grinbaum, an assistant professor of Marketing at Long Island University? He has also worked as a marketing consultant for two decades and built Broadway Suites, a growing multimillion dollar company in New York City. This book is meant for you if you are a college student, an employee stuck in a job you cannot stand, an individual who want to make a lot of money etc. This book was written just to suit you, and help you to get over those problems. Where you read this book you will sit there and say to you self, “If I had only known that before.” First, I am going to discuss a few of the chapters in this book and let you know how this book helps you, and what it specifically helps you to solve.
First chapter discuss about how important it is for someone to love what they do in the working field. We all know if you do not love the job you are doing, or as for a college student, you are not comfortable with your major, you should find ways to get what is right for you. Find a way that help you to find out what you in your own self enjoy what you like to do in life, what you want to work as, who you want to be seen and called as.
The author stated in bold, a fact I assume, that “You can hold up to fourteen jobs, possibly more, in your working career, according to the U.S. Department of labor.” He then explained that this statistic was for younger baby boomers that actually had much more stable work environment, but as for us in today’s working environment, it is considered the norm. People are finding jobs that are not meant for them. They are choosing jobs based on the hourly pay, their availability of time, and many other factors, but not what really matters to them.
People need to start choosing jobs that they are willing to do, they are willing to show effort, and willing to make it a success. In the first chapter where Grinbaum is really talking about having a “Passion” for what you do, he stated that “if you love what you do and are armed with the right skill set and mindset, then you will minimize the negative effects of change in your life and, if you choose to, have a much more secure career.” If you have a great passion for your job, but the pay is less than what you want, and the schedule is messing with your personal schedule, you have to deal with these negative and find some way to solve this, unless you have a safe and secured job out there.
If you happen to be a college student, the book “CHA-CHING” the author suggest to you in the first chapter different tools you can use to figure out your strengths. These tools are used to help you to find out what you do best or what you were meant to do; tools such as self-assessments and websites that shows occupations and the approximation of yearly earning. The book really helps you to easily discover your perfect career that match the person you really are. Also, the author even developed his own tool in finding your strength, which is in the book.
